Ingredients

Sauce
  • ¼ Cup Olive Oil
  • ¼ Cup Lime Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Orange Juice
  • 4 Cloves Garlic Finely Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • ½ Teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • ½ Teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Fresh Cilantro
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
Steak
  • 1 Pound Flank Steak
Topping
  • Avocado Sliced
  • ½ Red Onion Thinly Sliced

Method

  1. For the sauce, whisk together all of the sauce ingredients in a large bowl. Reserve ¼ cup of the sauce for later. Place the flank steak in the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. Preheat the barbeque to medium-hot. Remove steak from the refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  3. Grill the steak directly over the heat, turning a couple of times, for 8 minutes or until done. Remove and let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
  4. For the topping, combine the avocado, onion, and the reserved marinade. Toss to coat.
